Ok. Problem: "How do I deal with an excessive number of posts on a single topic?" or "How do I delete threads I don't find interesting" This assumes you are on feed mode or have the ability to burst (in Outlook Express) digests into individual messages. Solution #1: Eudora/Outlook/Netscape: 1. make sure you're on "FEED" mode (individual e-mails) 2. set up a "filter" (Filter in Eudora, Rule in Outlook, ?? in Netscrape) 3. filter messages into a folder (e.g. all messages with "[EMAIL PROTECTED]" in the From: address go to folder "g-list") 4. sort by SUBJECT 5. learn how to use a combo of the shift-key and the up-and-or-down keys to select messages followed by the "delete" or "del" keys to delete them (it's fast & I can deal with 50 messages in 30 seconds leaving the one or two I'm interested in, especially if they're in "threads") or 5. use the mouse and the shift key to delete whole threads Hotmail & Yahoo, web interface: 1. make sure you're on "FEED" mode 2. create a folder 3. set up a "filter" like in #3 above (Options: Custom Filter (Hotmail), Options: Filters (Yahoo)) 4. sort the relevant folder by SUBJECT 5. use the mouse and your browser's JavaScript ability to delete whole threads in seconds without reading them NOTE: You can also be on "DIGEST" mode and do the above. Outlook Express (not sure about Eudora or Netscrape) offers you the ability to "burst" digests into individual e-mails. It's not 100% perfect but it does a pretty good job. Solution # 2 (extremely draconian (you'll miss lots of posts) & provides only temporary relief): 1. make sure you're on "FEED" mode 2. set up filters for particular senders or subjects -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
