I guess you realize a USB drive is innately slow for large file transfers? Get a firewire drive if you really want faster speed. Still, that seems excessively slow. An OS upgrade (ie, to OS9) may help somewhat if you're using OS8. If youre using X, try running in 9. NickUtah
