To complete Eric's solutions for filtering messages I have added the comments
for Netscape.

For Netscape you have to open: 'Edit' menu/ 'Message Filters...' and then...

... it's almost the same as you suggested in #3...
...In short: when you're in 'Message Filters' click the 'New' button, type
'G-list' (w/o the quotes) in the field, then below by 'Filter Action' click on
'subject' and set it to 'to' 'contains'and paste '[EMAIL PROTECTED]'
(w/o the quotes) in the open field. Then by 'Move to folder' click on 'New
Folder' and type G-list and select 'Inbox' for where to create the g-list
folder; or if you want create those folders at the same level of the 'Local
mail' folder. That's all. Do that for all your email list folders and it's far
much easier to read those emails.

For Netscape: If there is more than one mail with the same subject including
replies ('Re:') Netscape creates a thread and shows it with a little blue
triangle in front of it.
If you're not interested in reading that thread you can click on the icon in
front of the blue triangle, it's some sort of blue stack with a green arrow
pointing downwards, if you click on that, the whole thread will be selected
and pressing the delete key on your k/b (or clicking the delete button) will
trash the whole thread.
