I recently aquired a 333 zif chip(?) with the hopes of replacing the 233 chip in my rev. A desktop beige G3. As this was yanked out of a dead desktop g3, I have no "manual" to go by...
Is this a "pull out the 233 and put in the 333" kind of thing? I'm happy mucking about inside my g3, but know little about straight swaps per se. I'm also hoping to up the bus speed as I go along, tho I beleive in one-step-at-a-time; ie I'll get the 333 chip working and stable and then get jumpers to change the bus speed------- UNLESS the 333 chip needs a faster speed to begin with. So does anybody have a source of "step by step" instructions that I might llok at- maybe XLR8 or something... any help greatly appreciated.
