I agree, they are very good cards, do 2D and 3D very well, but don't expect to run a Voodoo 5 in 3D in a B&W at 1024x768 on a 21" full screen fluently, because it doesn't, even when the card resides in the 66 Mhz slot. The games I play like Quake3, UT and RTCW, stutter a lot on a big screen, so I have to trim the settings. On the other hand, when I use a 17" monitor it works perfectly. The only thing I don't understand is that I upgraded from a Voodoo 3 16 MB to this Voodoo 5 5500 64 MB dual processor (comparison done on a 17"), that I only saw two or three FPS increase. Is that the limitation of the slow PCI bus compared to the faster AGP slots nowadays? I was thinking of getting one of the PC PCI Geforce cards MX cards and get a G4 upgrade, but that won't make much of a difference I think. > (we Voodoo card owners may get lucky in the future and have > drivers to run OS X). Yeah hopefully, because my first attempt with OS X and a Voodoo card was dramatically. Other upgrades you can do is buy a PCI ATA controller such as the SIIG or VST Ultratek and hook a few HDs to it, that will be much faster (ATA 100 or 133) than using the built-in ATA33 bus for a HD. -- Marc van Gemert | MacSonar Support Team | Webmaster MacSonar http://www.MacSonar.net | mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED] -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
