I need extra storage for my G4 733, and decided to go for a 120 MB external firewire drive.
So I'm trying to decide between one sold by ClubMac and another by Otherworld Computing. The links are http://eshop.macsales.com/Catalog_Item.cfm?ID=3816&Item=OWCMEFW120GB and http://www.clubmac.com/clubmac/shop/detail.asp?dpno=505565 The Otherworld drive uses an IBM DeskStar 120GXP 7200rpm 8.5ms 2MB Cache ATA/100. Club Mac doesn't say what's in theirs e4xcept that it's also 7200 rpm The ClubMac drive is $259 and the Otherworld drive is $280. Both have external power bricks so there's no fan inside (quiet, they claim). Both have 1 yr. warranty but the ClubMac drive also has a 30-day return guarantee. Otherworld's drive includes Intech's HD SpeedTools. ClubMac has no mention of a utility. Anybody got any thoughts/advice that might help me make up my mind which drive to buy?
