There is an issue with zif upgraded beiges and OS X. go to 
http://homepage.mac.com/mikeal/FileSharing.html
and grab System Disk 2.6.2.
It's an app that will run in OS 9 to set the start up disk to osX. It 
came with the Public Beta...And It works like a charm!
