Hi, AI have a Beige G3/300 Desktop (64/4gig/zip/cd/ REV. 2 or 3 ROM, whisper sound card, Raytheon VRM) that has been locking up unexpectedly every day. It can run fine for 2 hours or 2 minutes, and the computer will either hard lock-up (mouse freezes) or a not so hard one (mouse moves). Attempts to force quit in this mode have resulted in a complete freeze. Every 2 or 3 restarts give me BUS ERROR, but freezes before it give me the whole dialog box. I have been running OS 8.6 on it, and the only applications I have been using are IE, Disk First Aid, Toast Titanium (for external SCSI burner) and a few old games. I pulled extra RAM from it and swapped HD's (with an older 2 gig). The computer's jumpers have not been modified, and nothing else on the motherboard, either. Anything that I missed? I was planning to upgrade it, (512MB RAM, 80GB HD, OS X) but I need to know if its easily remedied or headed for the scrap pile. Thank you for your help.
