that might help, at least with script kiddies. unfortunately, all the cracking can be done just by monitoring your network, which of course anyone can do since it's a radio signal that blankets a large area. once they have it cracked they can see all the details of all the data packets, and can easily "spoof" one of your legitimate machines. if they do spoof you a log won't even show anything suspicious, and there's no way of knowing other than that things are happening on the network that you aren't doing. that's part of the problem, once it's cracked they can pretend to be any of your machines as well as being able to passively monitor the whole network (normal, good machines on the network ignore traffic that isn't addressed to them, but it's easy to set a machine up to receive all the traffic and show where it was supposed to go, in addition to being monitored). also, part of the problem is the airport uses the same standard used by other wireless networks, so the pc kids can play as well. one of the major flaws is that most of the algorithm is permanently embedded in the chips and can't be updated, so the standard is unable to evolve to higher levels of security as weaknesses are discovered. i'll try and check later on some of the links i had to excellent articles, as i recall the first exploit took all day, later someone found out how to do it in as little as 4 hours and without leaving any kind of trail.
