I have a Rev C Beige G3 DT that I added a new hard drive to (a
Maxtor 40GB). Since I didn't want to part with the stock (Quantum) 4GB
drive, I decided to use it as a slave. Jumpered it, hooked it up, and
it worked fine for a while. However, the DT went screwy on me, and I
had to reinstall the OS (9.2.2). Problem is, now the G3 is unable to
recognize the slave drive. System Profiler is reading the hard drive as
a CD-ROM drive. Same thing with Drive Setup.
How can I fix this? Does this problem also have anything to do
with the fact that I replaced the stock CD-ROM drive with a
(non-bootable) LaCie CD-RW drive, which menat that I had to use the
CD-ROM driver from OS 8.0?
Any insight greatly appreciated.
