B&Ws Rev1s came with an ATI Rage 128, B&W Rev2s and later came with an ATI Rage 128 Pro card, both have 16 MB SDRAM onboard. B&Ws sold with built-in CD/DVD-ROM also have a hardware DVD decoder daughter card on the ATI card. If you really want hardware decoding I would recommend against getting a native B&W ATi card w/o the daughter card, because the daughter card itself is hard to find. > I need a native BW ati card > in order to run my dvd-rom < assuming I am able to also locate a daughter > card for it. > the retail ati's wont support the mpeg decoder daughter > card. Choises you have is either buying a second hand ATI Rage 128 or ATI Rage 128 Pro card w/o the daughter card, or even a new Radeon 7000, and than using software decoding with a patch from this site: http://web.tiscalinet.it/thinkdifferent/ A while ago there was a third-party DVD hardware decoder card called Wired4DVD with video out, but I believe that that card has been discontinued.
