If you look under Sherlock 2, you will find a place to set up a schedule to have your hard drive Indexed. If you don't set it, it's automatically set to run at midnight. You went to bed and the schedule booted up at Midnight to run. If you don't like that, go into Sherlock and turn it off, or set a schedule that's more convenient for you.
