This is what finally worked. 1st partition = 10.1.5 3.5 gig 2nd partition = 9.2.2 3.5 gig 3rd partition = storage
All were HFS extended The machine was an iMac tray loading 333 mHz G3 Open Firm Ware 3.0.f2 built on 04/23/99 I guess if you want to boot from 10 or from 9.2.2 they must be entirely in the first 8 gigs.
