It may be that the very thin and fragile connector of the keyboard to
the motherboard is bend or there is a kink on it. Did you open it up
recently or made any upgrades that require you to open it up? If the 
answer is no, then I would suggest you open it up by un-screwing the
keyboard T-8 screws and removing the keyboard. Have a look if there are
any bends or kinks in the connecting ribbon.

Apart from that, I'd look around eBay for spare keyboards but make sure
you get the ribbon cable, it is a possibility that it is damaged beyond
repair. After all, it is an almost  7 year old machine....
