OK "Tech of the Hour", PC Card used to be referred to as PCMCIA cards, but the association "PCMCIA" decided to let them be called "PC Cards" and the association be called "PCMCIA". These are the small cards normally used in laptops but with an PCI adapter can be and are frequently used in desktops for special functions. If you would have clicked on the link to www.pcmcia.org you would have seen what I meant. http://www.pcmcia.org/faq I'm not saying its right or wrong to call them PC Cards, I'm just saying that the association that invented the things asked that they be called "PC Cards". I don't call them PCMCIA cards for the same reason I won't call "Firewire" "iLink" (Sony's name for IEEE1394). Because the inventor wants me to. > In the past, cards were known as "PCMCIA Cards", but the industry now refers > to products based on the technology as "PC Cards," "PC Card Hosts" and "PC > Card Software," and refers to the association as PCMCIA. Again, quoted straight from www.pcmcia.org I just wanted to point out that tech terminology is always changing and when you tell someone to memorize something in a condensing tone you should check your own terminology first. (In this case a quick check of www.pcmcia.org would of done it). Bill A+ certified Network+ certified MCSC Certified Apple Certified Technician -- "I have not failed.
