I'm certainly underwhelmed... System: Beige G-3 266 BOX STOCK 140mb RAM 2gb and 4 gb SCSI drives Apple's 24x CD-ROM No extra cards installed
From the Read Me Before You Install pdf on the 10.2 CDs: "Supported computers You can install this version of Mac OS X on any of the following computers: Power Mac G4 *Power Macintosh G3* <this is the exact machine that I've been trying to install on.> PowerBook G4 PowerBook G3 (except the original PowerBook G3) iMac and eMac iBook" From what I see, this system *is* supported. HA!!! Booted to OS 9.2.1, X.2 CD in CD-ROM Install X (Jaguar) Error Message: Can't set boot device to CD (-2) Set boot device to CD in Startup Device C/P Boot to nothing... Black screen. Some disk activity then no disk activity. Remove X CD, replace w/ 9 CD. Boot holding C, nothing Boot holding the vulcan nerve pinch, nothing Boot holding option, nothing. (THis worked when we had the same problem w/ 10.1) We're back to black screen. 17" multiscan monitor. Holding the option key down doesn't cut it this time...
