re: an installed USB card should be fine, the drivers are included,however USB-2 is not supported until OSX the card will only work as USB-1 ,that said,,I dont like sony'' for many reasons,''' as for compatability,and quality I can say nikon is very good,Im sure there are others as well , but I dont have them to know. hope this helps
