As long as you have a good stack of RAM in the machine, about 384MB or more is best, it will be fine. It fully supports the ATi Rage Pro chipset that powers the video in the Beige G3 machines but is not able to render 3D such as OpenGL at this time. I have a friend out in the USA that is using Jaguar on his 266Mhz G3 with 768MB RAM and he says it runs really well. Similarly I run 10.1.5 (which is significantly slower according to reports) on my iBook 300MHz and it is very much a usable and lively feeling OS. Jaguar is much faster than previous versions therefore one can only assume that it is even faster and livelier on old G3 hardware. Apple took a hammering becuase of how slow OS X was on low end hardware and have made a really big effort to make it faster across the board but especially on lesser configurations. I say go for it. You can't fail to be impressed by OS X even if you find it a bit alien compared to OS 9.2.2. -- -- Mark Benson Any spelling errors are attributed to PEBKAC Vintage Macs List Nanny SilValleyPirate - AIM silicon_valley_pirate_uk - Yahoo!
