This/these wires are intended to stabilize the aperture mask from temperature 
changes.

The monitors are specified to meet the convergence spec after a 30 min. 
warmup.

In my experience, only selected OEM-type GDP-series Sony Trinitrons were 
temperature stable from power-on. Retail market Trinitrons (whether 
GDP-series or not) usually took at least 5 min. to stabilize.
