digikey.com has a very wide selection of excellent fans, including one i believe is called "hydra wave" that is supposed to be quiet. i wouldn't suggest oiling, unless you really enjoy doing periodic maintenance as it will require occasional oiling after the first time. the original fan is probably 12v, but you should ask them to measure the size and see if it has a cfm or m^3/min rating, i.e. how fast it blows, get one that moves at least as much air. sorry i don't have one available to check.
