I read somewhere recently that a lot of silicon valley people are paying money to send their kids to private schools where there are no computers, because learning about os's and programs and the like is ephemeral and changing; it can be learned rapidly when you really need to, and they want their kids to learn the basic stuff first, not waste time on computers. Interesting thought. Sort of like my kid learning Japanese, the school said talk in Japanese first, read, watch videos, etc, first get used to listening and expressing, don't worry as much about reading and writing, the characters can be learned later, even in college.
