I dont believe the firewire is bootable on the B&W  < not sure about the usb
>  as far as your printer  or any serial port   external    your best bet would
probably be to get a StealthPort by GeeThree < adds a serial port where the
modem is suppose to go-easy install > there is also another brand type as
the Stealthport  but cant remember.  can get a stealth port for $20 or so
off ebay.

as far as a scsi card/pci  goes    my advice would be to make certian it is
Bootable   some are some arent.   meaning, your HD wont mount on start up
and there wont be any power managment controll over it < it will just run
and run-getting quite hot >.  you'll have to do things manually < mount
drive with scsi probe  and unplug power feed to drive to get it to turn off
and not run<spin> >.  I think the PD 2930  is bootable.
