My son is trying to install 10.2 on his Beige G3 DT. He is getting the famous "freeze" during the install. I have been searching the list archives and trying to make a good complete list of the various issues that might be a problem. Please help me compile a good accurate list. Here is the list of items that can cause a problem. (This is a first shot, correct if I am wrong on any of these)
Problems Installing Jaguar (MacOS 10.2) on Beige G3 DT (limit to this machine) 1. Third party CDs or DVDs. Use a stock Apple drive. 2. Third party PCI cards such as USB or Firewire. Use ADB keyboard and mouse. 3. Classic Apple monitor (14"-15"). Use multi-sync 15" or larger. 4. Minimum of 128 meg of memory. (Note: machine will only see 768 meg) 5. Third party memory. Use Apple memory. 6. Partition problems. Install on first partition of disk (less than 8 gig). 7. Please criticize and add to this list so people who are having problems will have a good accurate help. -- Larry Blodgett email: ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) email: ([EMAIL PROTECTED]) In theory, practice and theory are the same, but in practice they are different. -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
