In your case, I would change only the last numeral. Open Network Utility in the Utilities in the Applications folder; the second tab is "Netstat", and it will show what is connected and active. Open you browser and type in the IP address (192.168.1.1) and click enter. That should open the Zyxel and request a password. If you know the word assigned by the previous owner, use it, and continue. You will have to know this, afaik. Once logged in, you can change it to whatever you want.
