Im having trouble getting my newly <used> installed IDE Zip drive to work.
It simply wont mount in my B&W < never had one in it before >

I dont get it < other than the chance that the drive is bad. > it shows up
in my FWB s.m.a.r.t. scan during boot up it is also listed in the System
Profiler ATA 0 : ID 1 <cdwr is master>

I have tried setting the jumper to Master and plugging it into the end
connector on the cable as the cdrw is originally but still nothing.

I put the disk in then it goes click, click and then stops spinning. I
thought it might be a driver issue so installed newest iomegaware...isnt a
driver issue-my ext scsi mounts fine through my pci/scsi card.

another oddity as I was typing this originally I got a pop-up message
saying my computer couldnt read my disc and to initiallize or eject < would
eject- had to manualy> the disc had been in there about 10min sitting from
when last tried to get it to mount. FWB wont mount it with its mounter
either < Im running FWB drivers on my HD > I go to use iomegaTools and
it tells me there is not iomega drive installed.

the only half clue I have is that in the Sys Pro it says unknown for the
driver version.

so Im lost, other than a bad drive, so thought I would get any advice I
could before I had it replaced.

there is one thing that I thought of, there is a chance that this came from
a Beige G3 so i wonder if that would cause an issue and/or/if it could be
resolved with a firmware flash or something.

also the cdrw is a Toshiba cdrw/dvd combo < which has caused me 0
problems since install....the zip came a week later. > so maybe the mac
doesnt like the zip and the toshiba in the same house.? dont know, Im
starting to reach for things... any ideas?

Thanks
Ralph
