The quandary: Is it possible for a PCI Combo Firewire & USB card
    to only half work?
The mystery: Yamaha Firewire CDRW disappeared from ASP and Toast 5.1.4,
and will under no circumstance show itself..
But it isn't the burner. It works fine on G4 APG 400 machine with
built in FW. BUT, I need it to work, and has for a long time, on the DT,
    until now.
The otherwise healthy system: Beige DT 266, 512 MB, Maxtor ATA 60GB, Seagate
SCSI 12 GB, OS 9.2.2 on Maxtor, ATI Radeon Mac 32 MB PCI card with NEC
Multisync XP21 CTR, the burner is a Yamaha CRW 2100 FXZ, AND the bugger,
a Macally USB Firewire Combo bus
card with numerous USB devices attached and currently functioning
including a Bondi Agfa Snapscan 1212 scanner that has been a rock
(slowly handles any job I throw at it!). USB is working FINE!
The question: Before I drop another 90 dollars on another card to test if it
is indeed JUST the Firewire, and before I waste any more time testing
extension conflicts (Mouseware, ATI, no...sigh..Apple Authoring junk
disabled from day one long before this burner broke)
The answer: Any insights or advice? Thanks in advance.
    Jeff
