In response to the various contributors who have most recently put forward the idea of a separate X-list, I wholeheartedly support them, and whoever suggested it in the first place. The reason I can't identify the latter person is because I've trashed the G-digest in which it was first posted because it, like so many others in more recent times, appeared irrelevant.
I note that Dan the List Mom says "no" to a separate X list - I think it would be wise for him to reconsider that. I read that this G-digest is sponsored by Low End Mac - OS X can hardly be described as "low end". It is without doubt 'new age', and should, by its very characteristics, be granted a separate publication. Computer apartheid - gasp! Most of what is presently published in the present G-digest is like the duck's gumboots - no bloody use at all - to Mac devotees like me who cannot begin to afford a G4 with OS 10.2 or whatever. I operate a G3/300 with OS 9.2.2, and I struggle to find G-material in this list or digest that is relevant to my circumstance. Quite frankly, I've had enough of OS X discussion under the guise of a G-list. Call it what it is - an OS X Oracle. My thanks go to the few who have contributed some useful items, hints and advice - you have helped me understand the operation of my beloved Mac better. A moment's silence now for the passing of an old friend. Farewell G-list! (the genuine one that is)..... EP -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
