This has been an ongoing problem with Apple Designs; partiular when the appearance is the most important thing. A typical PC, particularly one that you can make, has bays up and down the front. This is one reason why I do not want to upgrade to a new Mac. It's shame that Apple continues to create problems. Getting a firewire DVD burner may be a simpler solution but much costlier. The Mac continues to be much more expensive than a PC, even in the long run.
