I was having the same thought just the other day... does anyone know if it would be as not-so-simple as that?...to just switch out the MB's... same power supply? without much research Im assuming the processors are different and cant take my G4 zif with the conversion, but Im assuming that most everything else with carry over < ram/video-pci/and all the ide/ata stuff > as far as the pic slots lining up... I have a jig saw =) and not a bit against modifying the back end of my case. can just send me a measurement from a reference point< bottom of MB,a mounting screw , etc > to the bottom of the first PCI slot and to the top of the last.
so in theory I can buy an AGP G4 motherboard for a couple hundred $'s < maybe even with processor included<g> maybe a few hundred> sell my MB from my B&W as well as the G4 chip in there now and maybe if the moon is right, end up with an AGP G4 for only the diference in what I can buy a MB for and what I sell my MB for.? sounds too easy.... aside from a possible case modification is there any reason why it would/cant work,>? would be like an early christmas =) on 10/15/02 10:48 AM, Mark Benson at [EMAIL PROTECTED] wrote: >>> I had an interesting thought while browsing a UK Mac Parts supplier. >>> >>> They sell G4 AGP logic boards (Jan 2001).
