I went ahead and opened the smi.9.2.1 updater & it verified successfully. I
installed it, & everything seems to be OK.

Then, I went with the 9.2.2 updater, & after StuffIt finished, it came back with
an error. Something about a damaged disk (Macintosh HD). I went & clicked on
smi.9.2.2, & it verified OK. Then, I did the install. Seems OK.

The "checking Macintosh HD" (on bootup) after the hard-reset didn't find any
errors.

What is the preferred method of repairing disks? I heard bad things about some
recent Norton. I've heard people recommend Diskwarrior. Is the latter THE way
to address hard-drive diagnostics? I've also heard strong recommendations to
get the full version of TechTool.
