I could be wrong but I believe that the largest DIMM the Beige G3s will recognize is 256MB. The towers [266, 300, 333] were noted as having a max of 768MB with 256MB DIMMs all along, the desktops were noted as maxing out at 384MB because at the time low profile 256MB DIMMs were not available. Now that they are you can max out any Beige G3 at 768MB but I believe you must use 256MB DIMMs as 512MB DIMMs will not be recognized.
