I have that Sony CRX195E1 in my Dual 1 GHz MDD G4 and it required no
hacking
for iTunes compatibility, and it boots in both OS 9.2 and 10.x.

I have a 8500/120 (G4/400 upgrade) with a Acard ATA/66 + 80g WD. I have
room
for more IDE drives.

There is a SONY CRX210A1 for $40 (after $50 rebates) on sale @Circuity
City
(rebate ends tomorrow):

Sony 48x12x48x Internal ATAPI EIDE CD-RW Drive
Brand/Model: SON CRX210A1

Has anyone tried to replace the stock CD drive, using the above Sony?
My stock
CD drive is awfully old & slow. I'm thinking of getting rid of the
stock SCSI & replacing it with the IDE.
