Hello, good to be back on this great list! Here's a nice retro question for our international panel of experts:
I had an 8500, upgraded to 200 Mhz, but, unfortunately, it was struck by lightning - literally. So the powersupply is dead, at least. The harddrive works, though, and the CD-player. So possibly the motherboard and RAM is OK. Now I got hold of an 8200/120. The motherboard seems to be the same size and shape, and has the same cables for SCSI, diskette and power. So I wondered if I could simply switch it for the 8500's motherboard. But do these manylined powercables carry the same voltages? Did Apple in fact use basically the same motherboard deign from the Quadra 840AV up to 9600? Same size and shape externally anyway. Any help would be greatly appreciated, I'm trying to recycle this machine for an idealistic little organization without much money. -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
