Multitasking stability still isn't as good. --- end of quote --- I still use my Amiga 2000. So much of my history lives on it that I need access to it. And some of the software is still quiet useful. My Amiga has a Mac emulator (Fusion) and a card with Mac serial ports. The emulated Mac, (which is about as good as a real 68k machine) multitasks as a task on the Amiga OS and quickly passes files between the systems. That allows me to network the Amiga through the Fusion emulator to my G3 Mac via localtalk. The Amiga can even mount Mac devices, all the drives on the G3 through this networking. The 2000 has a 50 mhz 68060 accelerator, and the emulator works at full speed since it is native to the processor, making it faster than any 68k Mac ever made. Too bad the Amiga lost support when it needed it. It was so far ahead in its time.
Meanwhile, let's not get everyone mad by praising a system that is, unfortunately, mostly history. There is, however, an Amiga emulator for Mac, including OSX, that is supposed to be pretty good. It's needed to keep those archives accessable. Rich -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
