As long as you are running OS 8.6 or later on the beige G3, almost *any* ATA CD-ROM will work. Apple's later CD/DVD driver is just about universal. I have also found that just about any drive will be bootable as well. The only one that I have tried that wasn't bootable was a AGI 56x CD-ROM. The others that I have used successfully (in chronological order) * Apple ROM 24x (OEM) * Kenwood 52x True-X (Sweet drive, quiet & fast!
