The problems that arise from not going though the shutdown procedure are related to having a working OS up and running (losing data buffered, but not written to the disk, which is a rare thing these days of fast disk i/o, and losing unsaved work)...if it isn't booted, just unplug it. > -- Wherever you go, there you are.
