ebay is pretty good if you know just what you want. How big a drive do you
want? As for using third party stuff, I've played with a lot of different
macs (and others) and have found that especially with the recent models
(say from beige G3 up) ------if the settings are right it shouldn't be any
problem. The only thing I haven't done much with is the clones. I have a
few power computing models and generally just don't mess with them. In my
G4 I basically just get a big drive and toss it in. I changed out the dvd
for a yamaha cdrw with no issues. I have a sonnet tempo card running a
wd120 gig & an ibm 61g running a maxtor 40g and a wd40 off of the
board...all without issue. The only odd situation I have is trying to put
a superdisk drive in place of the zip. Didn't read up on it ahead of time
(still haven't) and I should have since it doesn't work. Might be the
drive (unknown condition extracted from a dead external drive) or it might
be that 9.2 and 10.2 need software to access the drive (I recall hearing
that 10 won't do floppies without a hack).

If you can't find what you're looking for on ebay, let me know.
