RE: Audio file quality

Just for the record - ANY DIGITAL AUDIO FILE IS 'MISSING' INFORMATION
Look at the sine wave (the graphical representaion of a signal - it's signature)
and you will see a continuous series of peaks & valleys far above & below the
centerline OR baseline reference.
The digitization of the signal wave imposes a cut-off point somewhere above &
below the baseline.
This flattening of the signal streamlines the conversion process & reduces the
amount of captured data OR filesize. The wider the parameters OR the greater the
bitrate - the more signal you save.
BUT, you never save the complete harmonic range even at the highest capture rate
- so you lose some signal - maybe imperceptible to most people on little tiny
boxes with earphones but still missing.
Certain types of music/instrumentation suffers more than others like Indian
sitar scores which create
a harmonic range of seventeen tones instead of our (american/european) twelve
tone scale.
