(Chuckle) . . cute, Tim ;-) Most forum discussions I've read warn against doing this, as there is no adequate ventilation. But some argue that the sheet metal cage transfers the heat from a drive, acting as a heatsink. To play it safe, I'd go with Albert's position, but I think it also depends on the actual hard drive you use, as some don't generate as much heat as others. My answer for the cage assembly in my G4? I got rid of it, and replaced the zip drive with a CDRW, which sits just underneath a DVD-ROM drive . . . . . . there's no job in the world a Milwaukee Sawzall can't handle! ;-) __C -- Chrys R.
