Hi all; I've been following this thread because I own a Beige G3 266DT also,
and will be maxing the ram in a month or so. The Beige G3 will not recognize
single sided 256 Dimms as 256. They are seen as 128Mb. The Beige G3 needs
double sided 256 Dimms and requires that they be low profile Dimms, 1.15"
high,IIRC. There is a finger guard that can be removed to bypass the height
restriction. IIRC,the Dimms should be non-parity with EEprom. Our resident
G3 expert, PeterH, can expand further on this.HTH
