Just a note to inform you that you are correct and to thank you for the 
info.

I tried the procedure you outlined and it worked.
Really a time saver.
Now I  do not have to first create a disk image before burning

BTW. At first I had a puzzler. When you insert the blank CD into the 
CDRW, the resulting panel does not have a "mount on desktop" selection. 
The default selection displayed is to "open Finder". I hit "OK" and the 
660mb disk icon did appear on the desktop. Continued on with your 
procedure and burning was successful.
