Yesterday I upgraded my Beige G3 from 10.1.5 to 10.2.3 to fix a problem I was having with Firewire. That mission was successful (see earlier post) but now I find that X does not want to use my DLink 10/100 Ethernet card (model number DFE-530TX+).
Apple System Profiler shows that an Ethernet card is installed in the slot but the Network System Preferences panel doesn't show the card as a choice when I click on "Add". I downloaded the latest driver from DLink but that made no difference. I deleted the .kext file it installed and rebooted, but it still was unavailable. Finally, I re-installed and rebooted to no avail. Is Jaguar less friendly to 3rd party Ethernet cards or does DLink just not have their act together? -Mick -- -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
