Flashing is more for things that are needed before the OS is loaded-
like video and drive controllers (there are exceptions, of course).
You need a program that can use the board.   

There does seem to be one for Linux, but I don't know anything about
porting it to MacOS X.  It looks like it uses a bunch of kernel level
code, which makes it hairy. 

Perhaps you could find a commercial program that can deal with the
board.
