The "A-V Card" is really just a connector block.

All of the logic which supports A-V is contained in LSI circuitry which is 
soldered to the top and bottom of the 8500's motherboard.

IIRC, the Beige G3 was the first PCI Mac which had the A-V circuitry on a 
transition card.
