I'll confirm it again if you like.  My Beige minitower, Rev 1 board, rev C rom,
is perfectly happy with the Pioneer DVR 104.  The installation was a plug and
play replacement fo the original internal cd-rom drive.

I can burn data disks through Titanium Toast up to 4.7 gigs, just like burning a
cd rom

I'll also confirm again that in OSX this installation works fine with iDVD.  You
need a G4 processor, though.   It also works fine with DVD Player, the version
supplied with 10.2.x, though you need a video card that can handle it (and, I
think, the G4.) Possibly the video on a rev 3 Beige motherboard is sufficient. 
(I have a Radeon 7000.)

I'm very happy I finally took the plunge on this thing.
