The Beige G3 requires low density DIMMs. Sounds like what you have is 
high density memory. I had to buy from one of the online retailers that 
specialize in G3 memory (18004memory if I remember correctly. I found 
them on the Low End Mac page) before I could get 256 mb DIMMs that 
worked in my Beige G3 desktop.
