hi there, i'm finally ready to bite the bullet and sink some money into my beige 300 mt. my end goal is to be able to install and run jaguar. i think i have an idea of what upgrades i'm looking to buy, but i thought i'd see if anyone had any advice they could throw my way.
my system: g3/300av mt, rev c 640mb ram original 8gb hard drive 80gb western digital hard drive (i think 7200rpm ultra ata/100) original ati mach 64 graphics card belkin usb card i'm looking to add a g4 zif upgrade, probably owc's g4/450mhz. i'm also thinking of getting the ati radeon 7000. i had a few questions... 1. in reading the posts here, i'm wondering whether i should also get an ata pci card, perhaps the siig ultra ata/133. what benefits would i get from adding one of these? 2. how would you recommend partitioning the drives and which os would you recommend installing on which partition, if i wanted to run jaguar? 3. any other upgrades i should consider, or other general words of wisdom or things i should watch out for? thanks in advance for your help. i've learned a lot from this board in the last few days, and i look forward to learning even more. cheers, matt -- G-List is sponsored by <http://lowendmac.com/> and...
