There are various Gnutella programs available for the Mac: LimeWire,
Acquisition, Mactella among them. Views on each seem to be pretty
partisan - users of any one program seem to view the others as the
worst thing to happen since the Plague. They're all slow however, as
that is just the nature of Gnutella.
As for Kazaa, well, my boss's hobby is fixing PCs for friends and
co-workers (nearly a full-time job, actually.) His most common repair
job seems to be cleansing machines of viruses and "spyware", of which
Kazaa appears to be a conspicuous culprit for installing ("John, you
wouldn't believe Dennis's computer! It was riddled with spyware, it
was all over the hard drive!)
