It is ATA-3. 16.67mb/sec max throughput.

Faster ATA drives are always backward compatible with
slower busses, just not the other way around. IOW, it
*will* work, but at the slower ATA-3 speed.

This is a great option if you have the money and a
free PCI slot. I installed a VST ATA/66 card in my
Beige, and was quite pleased with the speed bump when
combined with a Maxtor 7200rpm HDD.

OWC has a Acard UltaATA/66 controller for $49.99 plus
whatever overseas shipping would be. This is a good
deal, and about as fast as you're going to get on an
ATA bus. I remember reading some bench tests of
controller cards recently, and even the 100 and 133
controllers were no faster than the ATA 66 ones.
