Anyone have a clue as to why when I open an AppleScript with Script Editor 1.1.3 I am getting Raw Event Codes and if I try to use beep in a script that it is treated as a variable and not a AppleScript verb?
Also when I open the same script with Script Debugger 1.05 the script opens and looks normal. Continuing with Script Debugger I did some testing. I could get a script to compile with beep, but it would error if I tried to run it with -1708 script doesn't understand the beep message. When I tested with display dialog "empty list" I get -1708 "empty list doesn't understand the display dialog message" When I try to run a script with Speak "empty list" which is from the Late Night Scripting osaxen, then AppleScript speaks the text like it is supposed to do. I figure that something is wrong with my installation, but I don't know what to try. Help please. I am running OS 8.6 on a G3. <<<+=+=+=>>> "I'm sure we can all pull together, sir."
